At Connected Family we have created a rich set of features for your family to
take advantage of. We are always working to improve current features and build new
ones. Every feature is included with your web site plan. Each feature is referred to as a
module and you have the ability to add or remove any module you want on any page.

The photo album is our most popular feature. You can create as many photo albums as you want and each album can hold as many pictures as you want. Create one for a wedding and another for a birthday or vacation. We give you up to 1 GB (Premium Plan) or 500 MB (Basic Plan) of storage. So go ahead create a Christmas album and show off those pictures. When you upload the pictures you want the web site will automatically create a preview image and a large image. You can even upload a zip file with all your photos and we will do the rest.

Wouldn’t it be nice to have one place that everyone can keep their contact information up to date? Well now your family has a common address book so you never have to go hunting for the address of your sister-in-law.

Bought a new car or did the family dog have puppies? There is a special announcements feature that calls attention to big news. If you specify an expiration date when you add the announcement it will be removed from the site for you automatically after that date. How nice!

For those of you that haven’t heard of a blog, the name is short for ‘Web-Log.’ You can think of it as an online journal or diary. Each family member can have a blog to record thoughts or use it as a general notepad. And as always you can make it public for all to see, or keep it private just for you. Blogs are great because they allow you to jot down thoughts and ideas anywhere you have access to the internet and your Connected Family web site. Have a brilliant idea during your lunch break? Now you know where to jot it down!

Now you can know what everyone’s plans are. Our Calendar lets you tell other people what you are up to. Make sure everyone knows when birthdays are.

You control who can see or edit the pages on your web site. This is done through Users and Groups. Each person in your family gets a User account. Each User belongs to a Group and rights to see or edit pages are given to those Groups. Every page and module you add to your site has this access control associated with it. Do you want to create a page that everyone can see? Just create a page and set the access control to allow it. Want to create a page that only registered users on your site can see? Just create a page and set the access control to limit it. Want to create a page that only you can see? Just create a page and set the access control to limit it even more. Setting access control is easy. Just go to the settings for the page or the module you want to change and put a check in the box next to each group you want to have access. No check in the box means no access. And if you want the general public to see it, just check the box for All Users and then your friends can see your pages too! We will provide walk-throughs and examples of how to do this.

Once family and friends move away it is hard to stay in touch and talk very much. Now with our discussion forum everyone can talk all the time! Post a message to the forum and let everyone read and responded when they have time. It is a great way to plan family reunions, talk about politics or say happy birthday.

This simple little feature allows you to add links to your favorite internet sites to share the word and let others know what interests you.

You can create as many pages as you want on your web site. You can even create child-pages. So go ahead, make the web site what you want it to be. All you need to do is create a new page and give it a name, then start adding modules to it. In addition to creating as many pages as you like and adding the modules you want, we have multiple styles (called skins) for you to choose from that change the color and feel of your family site.

Curious about which T.V. show the family thinks is the best comedy? You can use the Survey feature to ask and let people vote. It's lots of fun!

We provide you a module that allows you to simply put in text about whatever you feel like; use it to give some history or current info about your family, or share your favorite quotes. This module supports HTML as well so you can get really creative if you like, or just use text and keep it simple.

Chat as much as you want with family and friends. Get everyone online and have a family chat. Connected Family gives you the ability to have a chat room that only your family can access. You can also open the chat up to anyone you want. No one in your family needs to install anything onto their computer.
